Life Changing – Yes it’s a big statement
The air fryer. You may jest, but, yes, this life style product changed our family’s life. And the life of many of my mother’s friends, most who are over 80. In fact, I will go so far as to say it has allowed at least two of them to stay independent and live at home on their own safely. Let me explain.
This little beauty is so easy to operate. You quite literally turn the easy to dial knob (even for arthritic fingers) to the right to the desired time AND THAT’S IT. The same temperature is recommended for everything. 200 degrees Celsius. No, nothing will burn, promise. Don’t let the name fool you. It is such a healthy way to cook. No oil required.
You can cook almost everything from a whole roast chicken, to a ham and cheese toastie. No pre-heating necessary, and once it has reached the desired time set, it automatically shuts off, making it an extremely safe option for older people, who may have problems remembering they have something in the oven. Also nothing can be tipped over to cause scalding, like a pot on a stove. It works on the principle of air flow. Any fator liquid that comes out of the food, circulates, around and around like an auto baster. If the food you are cooking is quite dry eg. free of fat, a quick spray of oil is all that’s needed. In fact, the only food I have found not to do well in the air fryer is broccoli.
Economical and Safe for Young and Old
The air fryer isn’t just perfect for older people. It was the first thing I bought for our three sons when they moved into their own homes. It is so quick, easy, inexpensive to run, takes far less time to cook than traditional ovens and the food comes out crispy on the outside and juicy inside. Bacon done in the air fryer – oh my, it obviously does both sides at once, no hanging around the stove top, just set and forget, comes out crispy (if that’s how you like it) or adjust – it’s perfect every time.
I have used a few different brands over the years, but by far the most superior is the Philips air fryer. Quite simply, the food taste and texture is just better. Some other brands produce soggy results and often take much longer to cook. The Philips air fryers have standard and turbo models also with different capacities. I highly recommend the accessories too.. You can buy stands that layer foods, vessels for cooking eggs and many more. I’ve listed a few below.
